{living history farms}

The Janke family is one of our favorite families from med school. We met almost 7 years ago, and at the time we only had 3 kids between the two of us. As you can see from the picture below....a lot has happened to both of our families since then. They live in St. Louis and decided to come and spend Easter weekend with us in Iowa. We had a fantastic weekend with their sweet family, and I am quite sad that it went by so fast.

We went to Living History Farms on Saturday morning. It was cold and rainy, and slightly muddy outside, but not one of the kids could have cared less. My boys were in heaven with so many fun kids to play with. The Janke boys are so fun and they all got along so well with one another.

After the kids went on a 'toy hunt' first thing that morning....there were a whole bunch of different games spread throughout the farm. Hat races, egg rolls, pancake race etc... They had free breakfast burritos, soda and popcorn for all. We also went on a horse pulled carriage ride and there was even a small little petting zoo set up. Despite the cold, wind, and rain...it was well worth the trip to Living History Farms.
