{back to the orchard}

Going to our favorite apple orchard-- ranks up there with one of my all time favorite things to do in Iowa. We have gone almost every year that we have lived here, and each time it gets better and better.

There are so many fun things to do at the orchard, I just love it. We spent a wonderful afternoon there last weekend.

The corn pool was the highlight of the day I think.

At least the kids thought so.

We revisited the 3 little pigs houses.

Hunter pretended that he was the big bad wolf again!

They rode on the mini tractors.

And took a trip down the Super Slide.

I think this was Steve's favorite part of the day.

My favorite part of the day, was spending time with my family-- and eating way too many freshly baked apple cider donuts from the bakery. Yum!

We brought home a bag of freshly picked apples, and I am really looking forward to making these caramel apples again-- this Conference weekend!

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

{surrounded by the boys}

As I have stated numerous times before--this time of year, is by far my favorite! I love the Fall for many reasons, but there is also someone in our family, who loves the Fall even more than I do! (if that's even possible.) Steve loves this time of year, because it means two very important things take place at this time......

Hunting and college Football season!

This year--our firstborn, aptly named for one of Steve's greatest loves--Hunter, got to experience for the first time in his life, a real hunt! A few weekends ago, Steve and Hunter got up at the crack of dawn, and headed off to the corn fields to hunt some doves. I would say they had a successful run, because you can see from this pic above how many birds they got. Hunter's job was to gather up the doves after Steve shot them, and carry them in his vest. He thought this was pretty dang cool. So, now I have in my freezer-- 12 dove breasts, that supposedly one day I will cook up in the oven and make some dove nuggets with! Yum right? I know you all want to come over to our house for dinner that night.......

Alas, little brother is still too young for hunting trips with dad--but he still wanted to run around in a vest just like his dad and big brother. On a side note, the vest Tanner is wearing in this picture, was made by Steve's grandma almost 50 years ago. Steve's dad wore it as a little boy, and now it has been passed down to Tanner.

Look how happy my Hunter is!!

Awe, college football. What a marvelous time of year it is at the Morris house. Especially when the Utes win. I have some of the greatest memories going to the football games with Steve when he was doing his undergraduate there. We love watching the games, and cheering on our team.

Showing off their Utah Ute pride!

So in this house, as you can see I am a bit outnumbered--and surrounded by a bunch of boys! So I guess it is a good thing for them, that this girl happens to love it almost as much as they do! (Almost!)

{super heros~super friends}

A couple weeks ago, we met up for a "Family Fun" night at the Valley West mall with our good friends the Spjut's. On the last Tues. of every month--they have crafts, activities, inflatables, face painting, etc... for anyone who wants to come. Do you want to know the the best part about Family Fun night?? The whole thing is free.

This is probably the 4th or 5th time we have gone, and we have never let the kids get their faces painted. Mainly because we didn't want to wait in line for 45 min. But this time, we decided to get there early, before the line got ridiculous--and let them all get their faces painted. I think they liked it.

Tanner chose Spiderman

And Hunter chose a very frightening dragon.

{Me and Allison}

Typically it has been the case, that one of our husbands is either working late at the hospital, or too tired for a night out at Valley West mall. And to be honest, I think we have more fun without them. With us both having kids in school, and living about 35-40 min. away from each other--this night each month, has given us a great opportunity to get together, and have fun talking and catching up. I have known Allison for almost 6 years now, and she has become one of my closest and dearest friends.
I am so thankful for super friends like her in my life.

{back to preschool}

My handsome little dude.

Tanner had his first day of preschool yesterday.

This is the second year that he has gone, and he couldn't be more thrilled to go back. This year, he will be going every Tue. and Thur. for about 2 1/2 hrs.

I can't get over how grown up he looks in this picture.

Right before Hunter had to leave to go on the bus that morning, he wanted to take a pic next to his brother. He kind of surprised me, and he gave Tanner a great big hug when he got home from school that day-- and he was so excited to hear all about Tanner's first day. I think it is going to be another great school year!
