Freedom.Fireworks.Family.Food.Fun
4th of July

The 4th of July is definitely one of my absolute favorite holidays to celebrate. I am proud to be a part of this great nation and I love celebrating what it stands for. How thankful I am for the many freedoms and liberties that I have been granted by living in this country.  As I stated above, our day consisted of freedom, fireworks, family, food and lots of
fun!

Steve had just come off working a 24+ hr shift, but he was a great sport and took part in the celebration despite having had about 2 hrs of sleep. We always look forward to spending these holidays with our little family and this one was no exception. I love seeing my family all dressed up in red white and blue.

I sure do love this little trio--
and this little bum.

We went to the parade that afternoon, and despite the temps being well over 100 degrees--had a great time. I love the Waukee parade.

Despite the fact, that there is literally not one float in the entire parade....you do not go away empty handed. Steve and I have nicknamed it the "No float Candy Parade" because they throw out so much candy that you come away thinking it was Halloween. We even got bottled waters and popsicles thrown at us.

 See for yourself--they were pretty proud of themselves with their haul.
 After the parade, we headed home for a nice BBQ dinner and way too much food was consumed.

Then we went over to the park that evening for sparklers and fireworks.

The show was spectacular!

{aqua fun}

How is July already upon us? I swear it feels like the summer just started and yet it is already half way over. We usually make a few trips to the aquatic center throughout the summer--and today I finally felt *brave* enough to tackle a trip to the pool with 3 kiddos. I was really concerned that it would be WAY to hot for Mia to be out in the heat all day, so that is another reason we haven't made it to the water park thus far. But we got there early so we could get a nice spot in the shade and had a wonderful day with friends.

Umm, yeah so I'm kinda in love with this chubby baby in her swim suit.

Looks like I'm not the only one in love with little missy.

This pic is somewhat deceiving, Mia actually really enjoyed the water park-- I just think she isn't a fan of sun shining in her eyes.

Great day!
