{iowa state fair}

Aww, the State Fair. A true Iowa tradition. It has become something that we thoroughly look forward to each summer. This year, we happened to luck out and picked a pretty nice afternoon where the temperature was quite 'cool.' And for a day in mid-August in Iowa, that is a treat in and of itself.

This year we checked out the Kids Zone-- where the boys got to walk through a series of stations and booths and learned all about Iowa's Agriculture and farming.

The smelly animals at the Fair are always a big hit with the kids. This year our favorite were the pigs.

And then there is the food. It doesn't really get much better than the State Fair--if you are in the mood for a deep fried Oreo cookie, or perhaps bacon dipped in chocolate on a stick. The sky is the limit at the fair in Iowa. Pictured below is what the Morris family chose to indulge on.....

I get them every year.....it would be a sin not to get a piping hot order of fried cheese curds at the fair right????
